Leaking from air handler I arrived and found the fitting on the air handler has been broken allowing water to drain into drain pan off the side. After speaking with client on situation he decided to install a drain iv to prevent him going up there and possibly having another issue. The drain iv was installed and tested. The fitting was replaced along with gluing another loose connection. I ran a gallon of water through the drain pan into drain line to confirm there was no more leaks. The system cooling was checked off the air handler . System is back up and cooling with a 18.9 degree split and no water leaks. The water in drain pan will evaporate shortly. Collected $636.65 for todays visit and sign up We only sign up the main unit he will service the other unit himself.

System not cooling When i arrived i found the evaporator coil frozen. I was able to thaw it out and take readings. There is a restriction in the refrigerant line at the piston (metering device). The restriction was caused due to not having a filter drier to catch any debris that may restrict the metering device. As I inspected the system we do have air flow restrictions on the evaporator coil and blower wheel. There was also an extremely dirty filter that helped starve the air flow to the point of freezing. There is not a filter in place now it will just freeze back up. The compressor is struggling to start up and the contactor is very burnt to a point where it could cause system failure. I will email and reach out to the husband. - reached out to Husband and went over all findings. I got with the office for special pricing they are going to discuss and follow up shortly
